General Atomics is seeking a highly experienced and motivated **Satellite Electrical Power Systems (EPS) Engineer** to join our Space Electrical Design Team for satellite missions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced Electrical Power Systems for satellite platforms. The successful candidate will report to the Space Electrical Design Team Manager and, alongside a team of expert engineers, will play a key role in supporting the development and engineering of cutting-edge satellite and space systems, advanced sensors, high-energy lasers, photonic devices, motors and drives, defense products, and other innovative technologies within GA-EMS's expanding portfolio. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Design and develop complex Electrical Power Systems (EPS) for satellite missions, including power generation, storage, distribution, and regulation systems. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure EPS systems meet mission requirements, including performance, reliability, and cost constraints. + Perform power system analyses, including fault analysis, and power quality assessments for satellite missions. + Develop and optimize solar array and battery systems, including sizing, configuration, and integration. + Support the integration and testing of EPS systems, including the development of test plans and procedures, and the execution of tests in both laboratory and flight environments. + Participate in reviews of requirements, design, and test procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. + Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system and subsystem specifications, test plans and procedures, and design and analysis reports. + Stay current on industry trends and advancements in EPS technologies, and proactively identify opportunities for technology insertion and innovation. + Work with GA-EMS Engineering staff and chief engineers in the concept development and prototype design, integration, and test of high-power processing solutions for all product lines and technology areas, with an emphasis on satellite and space systems products. + With consultative direction, exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives for the review, research, design, development, and/or solutions for designated engineering systems, projects, and programs. + Demonstrate prior experience in the improvement of legacy systems and development of new systems. + Generate electrical architecture solutions for new project needs, perform electrical engineering analyses for systems and circuits, document findings, communicate results to engineering and program management staff, give technical presentations, and manage technical effort schedules. + Function in an advisory or leadership role for a project/program and provide planning, direction, and oversight to less experienced professional staff or team of professional staff in technical efforts involving space-based electronics and sensors. + Formulate plans, typically multi-year, and coordinate solutions development and deployment including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical and other presentations to ensure viability of the solutions in an evolving environment. + Evaluate the integration of the engineering solutions within the overall engineering environment and ensure that appropriate documentation, testing, maintenance, and engineering updates are completed. + Plan for future applications of solutions based on new developments in engineering technology. + Develop new and expand existing business opportunities. + Communicate with colleagues and management throughout solution development and deployment cycles. + Represent the company as a prime technical contact on contracts and/or projects and interact with senior external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between the organizations. + Perform other duties as assigned or required. We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.52022 **Job Qualifications:** **Education and Experience:** + Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows: six or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, four or more years of experience with a master's degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. **Required Experience:** + Satellite Electrical Power Systems architecture; solar array design and optimization; battery system analysis and integration; power distribution and regulation design. + Embedded processing and controls; analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include power electronics, analog, and digital circuits; guiding a design through development and into production. **Desired Skills (ranked high to low):** + Demonstrate technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership. + Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving project environment. + Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and/or professionals. + Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact. + Customer-focused and able to formulate plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems. + Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment. + Must be able to prepare and conduct detailed technical presentations and reviews for all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives. **Additional Requirements** + Must be customer-focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment, with the ability to work extended hours and travel as required. + Active and current TS/SCI clearance required. **Salary:** $105,890 - $189,545 **Travel Percentage Required** 0 - 25 **Relocation Assistance Provided** Provided **US Citizenship Required?** Yes **Clearance Required?** Desired **Clearance Level** Senior (8+ years) **Workstyle** Onsite General Atomics is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
