Position Overview

The Marketing & Communications Associate provides strategic leadership and operational support for SEEC’s internal and external communications, digital platforms, outreach initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. This role is responsible for key systems and processes, manages external consultants and vendors, and collaborates with SEEC Associates and Advisory Council to advance SEEC’s mission, visibility, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Communications Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of internal and external communications strategies aligned with SEEC’s mission and organizational priorities.
  • Oversee and contribute to the creation, review, and distribution of marketing and communications materials, including press releases, newsletters, digital content, blogs, and event communications.
  • Establish and maintain systems for communications archiving, branding consistency, and promotional material inventory.
  • Prepare and present reports and dashboards analyzing communications performance, outreach effectiveness, and marketing ROI for leadership and stakeholders.

Database & Systems Management

  • Provide managerial oversight of SEEC’s CRM, databases, and related technology systems that support marketing, outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and optimal system performance across all platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve or optimize database and technology workflows to support organizational growth.

Website & Digital Platform Oversight

  • Direct website and social media strategy, content governance, and performance management to ensure alignment with SEEC’s mission, initiatives, and branding.
  • Assist and oversee workflow with SEEC associates, consultants and digital vendors, setting priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor analytics, SEO performance, and user engagement; recommend and implement data-driven improvements to increase visibility and impact.

Event Planning, Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Oversee planning and execution of stakeholder meetings, forums, and SEEC-hosted events, ensuring alignment with strategic outreach goals.
  • Coordinate cross-functional logistics, communications, and materials to deliver high-quality programs, events and public engagement experiences.
  • Evaluate outreach outcomes and integrate lessons learned into future planning.

Team Leadership & Organizational Growth

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and functional leadership.
  • Foster collaboration internally and externally to strengthen SEEC’s public presence.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and expanded community impact.
  • Take ownership of initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring accountability and results.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of digital communications, email marketing, social media, and content management platforms.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience overseeing video production, content development, and digital storytelling initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, research, planning, and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and website platforms (e.g., Squarespace, Salesforce or similar).
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to community development and improving quality of life in Schoharie County.

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience managing communications, digital marketing initiatives, websites, and/or community outreach programs.
  • Working knowledge of marketing analytics tools, SEO best practices, and digital performance measurement.
  • Experience overseeing CRM implementation, optimization, or governance.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead audience-focused campaigns with measurable results.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate $28 - $32, based on experience.
