Job Description

Lighthouse is working with a growing reference laboratory in Cary, NC looking for a clinical laboratory technician to join their testing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in high complexity environments within the clinical laboratory space.

This is a day shift M-F position.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Responsible for specimen handling and processing, test performance and analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results, and all according to the approved procedures.

· Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

· Following the laboratory's pre-analytic and analytic procedures and maintaining records of tests.

· Maintaining records showing that proficiency testing samples are tested the same way as patient specimens.

· Adhering to the laboratory's quality assurance procedures, including documenting all: Quality control activities. Instrument and equipment verifications. Maintenance and preventive maintenance.

· Following the laboratory's policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established performance specifications.

· Identifying and documenting problems that may adversely affect test performance and notifying the supervisor, assistant director(s), or director.

· Documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.

Preferred Profile:

· Bachelor's degree in biology

· New graduates welcome to apply,1+ years of experience preferred

· Pipetting, NGS (Next Generation Sequencing), PCR

· Experience working with automatic liquid handlers

Salary and Benefits:

· $25-33/hour
