Summary of Job
- Proven
experience in Datacenter infrastructure management, CISCO and DELL
infrastructure, Virtualization with VMWare.
- Good
capability, understanding of systems infrastructure administration,
configuration, licensing, deployment process and support.
- Experience
with running automated patching process, management of infrastructure
assets and firmware.
- Experience
with Nutanix, with hyperconverged platforms is an advantage.
- Understanding
of Continuous Improvement/LEAN/Six Sigma.
- Understanding
of administrating DELL Tanzu stack, Kubernetes clusters and its
virtualization.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to
join our IT Infrastructure team at our container terminal operations. This role
is critical to maintaining and optimizing the technology systems that support
our 24/7 port operations, ensuring high availability and performance of systems
that enable cargo handling, vessel operations, and terminal management.
Key Responsibilities
Virtualization & Infrastructure Management
- Manage and
maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter
Server, and related components
- Perform
capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization of virtualized
infrastructure
- Deploy,
configure, and troubleshoot virtual machines to support terminal
operations
- Manage
hyperconverged infrastructure platforms including vSAN deployments
- Support
Nutanix environments and assist with expansion projects
Server Administration
- Administer
Windows Server environments (2016 through 2025), including Active
Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Manage and
support Linux systems (Ubuntu and RHEL distributions) for various
operational applications
- Implement
security patches, updates, and configuration changes across server estate
- Monitor
system performance and proactively address capacity and performance issues
Storage & Infrastructure
- Manage
SAN/NAS storage systems, including provisioning, monitoring, and capacity
management
- Configure
and maintain Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage connectivity for ESXi hosts
and physical servers
- Troubleshoot
storage performance issues and optimize storage network configurations
- Manage LUN
provisioning, zoning, and multipathing configurations
- Support
backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Work with
Cisco UCS compute platforms for infrastructure deployments
- Participate
in infrastructure refresh and upgrade projects
Operational Support
- Provide
Level 2/3 support for infrastructure-related incidents and service
requests
- Participate
in on-call rotation to support 24/7 terminal operations
- Document
systems, procedures, and infrastructure configurations
- Collaborate
with network, security, and application teams on integrated solutions
- Support
disaster recovery planning and testing activities
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of
experience in system administration roles
- Strong
hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)
- Proficiency
with Windows Server administration (2016 or newer)
- Solid
experience with Linux administration (Ubuntu and/or RHEL)
- Understanding
of storage technologies including SAN/NAS concepts and protocols (Fibre
Channel, iSCSI, NFS)
- Experience
with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Strong
troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent
documentation practices
- Ability to
work in a 24/7 operational environment with on-call responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience
in maritime, logistics, or industrial/operational environments
- Hands-on
experience with hyperconverged infrastructure (vSAN, Nutanix)
- Familiarity
with Cisco UCS platform (UCS Manager, Fabric Interconnects)
- Experience
with Fibre Channel switching and fabric management
- Knowledge of
iSCSI best practices and performance tuning
- VMware VCP
certification
- Red Hat
Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or similar Linux certification
- Experience
with infrastructure monitoring tools
- Knowledge of
container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding
of high-availability and disaster recovery design principles
- A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and
maximum hourly wage for this position is $75/Hr. to $90/hr. with salary conversion of $170 k to $190 k per year as base with benefits
