Job Title: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Implementation & Configuration Company Overview Our client is a forward-thinking Oil & Gas industry company leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 to streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and accelerate digital transformation. We are seeking a battle-tested Dynamics 365 SME to lead high-impact implementation and optimization initiatives. Job Summary We are hiring an accomplished Dynamics 365 Subject Matter Expert (SME) with direct consulting experience on at least one full-lifecycle Dynamics 365 implementation and configuration project . The ideal candidate has served as a functional or technical lead, guiding clients from discovery through go-live and hypercare using Microsoft Sure Step, Power Platform, and modern cloud best practices. This is a part-time / contract / remote role. Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Configuration : Architect and configure Dynamics 365 apps (e.g., Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Finance, Supply Chain Management, HR) to meet complex business requirements.
• Requirements & Fit-Gap Analysis : Conduct discovery workshops, document As-Is/To-Be processes, and perform fit-gap analysis against Dynamics 365 standard capabilities.
• End-to-End Project Delivery : Drive all implementation phases—blueprint, design, configuration, data migration, testing (SIT/UAT), training, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Data Migration & Integrations : Lead data mapping, ETL design, and execution using KingswaySoft, Dataflows, or Azure Data Factory; configure integrations via Dataverse APIs, Power Automate, Logic Apps, or Dual-Write.
• Customizations & Extensions : Build model-driven apps, canvas apps, PCF controls, and plugins using Power Platform and Azure services while adhering to ALM best practices.
• Testing & Quality Assurance : Author test strategies, scripts, and regression suites; manage defect triage and resolution.
• Change Management & Training : Develop adoption playbooks, deliver super-user training, and support organizational change via Prosci or similar frameworks.
• Post-Go-Live Optimization : Identify value-add opportunities (AI Builder, Copilot, process mining), configure wave updates, and provide Tier 3 support.

Required Qualifications

• Dynamics 365 Consulting Experience : Hands-on role as consultant or lead configurator on at least one complete Dynamics 365 CE or F&O implementation (from kickoff to hypercare).
• Module Expertise : Deep configuration proficiency in core Dynamics 365 modules such as Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, or Finance & Operations (including Supply Chain).
• Certifications : Current Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant Associate or Power Platform Functional Consultant
• Technical Skills :
  • Mastery of Dataverse, model-driven apps, business rules, workflows, and security model.
  • Proficiency in Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and Dual-Write.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Solution Packager, and ALM pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of X++ (for F&O) or TypeScript/JavaScript (for CE) as needed.
• Project Methodology : Proven delivery using Microsoft Sure Step, Agile, or Dynamics 365 FastTrack frameworks; Scrum Master or PMP a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Multiple Dynamics 365 implementations across industries (e.g., manufacturing, professional services, retail, public sector).
• Exposure to Dynamics 365 Commerce, Project Operations, or Customer Insights.
• Greenfield migrations from Dynamics AX, GP, SL, or Salesforce

Soft Skills

• Outstanding stakeholder facilitation; ability to articulate technical solutions to C-suite and end-users.
• Analytical rigor with a bias for scalable, low-code/no-code solutions.
• Self-starter comfortable in ambiguous, high-visibility environments.
