Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity. **Job Summary** Associate Safety Specialist Recommends and administers various company safety and fire protection policies and programs. Responsible for providing safety oversight and technical support for Corporate, Gas Infrastructure, Power Delivery, or Power Generation groups. Provides and assists with oversight, coaching, advice, technical support and training on safety, fire prevention, construction and operational work methods. Conducts and assists with root cause analysis of safety incidents and recommends preventive actions. Identifies potential safety risks and implements corrective measures. Performs and assists with safety and/or fire protection inspections and monitors and evaluates work practices to ensure compliance with all OSHA, regulatory and company safety policies and programs. Develops awareness of governmental regulations and policies that may impact company operations. Assists with testing, researching and recommending new tools, systems and equipment, and ensures compliance with technical specifications. Assists with developing, implementing and conducting safety and fire protection training and presentations. May administer public safety programs for internal and external stakeholders such as first responders, contractors and schools. Assists in the development of Accident Prevention Manuals, and technical training programs and materials. May work closely with managers, supervisors, safety committees, and other colleagues to develop risk reduction plans and supports other safety initiatives. May investigate or assist with third party safety incidents, working closely with the claims department and regulators. Sr Safety Specialist In addition to above - Provides oversight, coaching, advice, technical expertise and training on safety, fire prevention, construction and operational work methods. Acts as a first responder to safety incidents and gathers and evaluates accident data. Conducts root cause analysis of safety incidents and recommends preventive actions. Identifies potential safety risks and implements corrective measures. Performs safety and/or fire protection inspections and monitors and evaluates work practices to ensure compliance with all OSHA, regulatory and company safety policies and programs. Maintains awareness of governmental regulations and policies that may impact company operations. Tests, researches and recommends new tools, systems and equipment, and ensures compliance with technical specifications. Provides expert advice and solutions to peers, customers, and co-workers. Investigates third party safety incidents, often working closely with the claims department and regulators. Nuclear specific: Performs surveillances and testing to ensure compliance with requirements of regulation 10 CFR 50 Appendix R and the site Safety Analysis Report. **Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience** The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following: Associate Safety Specialist + 1-2+ years of directly related experience + Knowledge of applicable safety regulations + Good verbal and written communication skills + Good planning and organizational skills + Good analytical skills + Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications Safety Specialist + 3+ years of directly related experience; + Understanding of company safety policies and work methods + Knowledge of applicable safety and fire protection regulations and requirements + Technical proficiency in applicable job specific discipline + Management Service (MMS) requirements + Knowledge of applicable hazardous material/chemical management and transportation + Job specific knowledge of industrial hygiene sampling and surveying techniques + Strong communication, writing, interpersonal and coaching skills + Good public speaking/presentation skills + Proficient computer skills + Ability to perform accident/incident investigations Sr Safety Specialist + 5+ years of directly related experience + Thorough understanding of company safety policies and work methods + In-depth knowledge of applicable safety and fire protection regulations and requirements + Technical expertise in applicable job specific discipline + Management Service (MMS) requirements + Full knowledge of applicable hazardous material/chemical management and transportation + Job specific knowledge of industrial hygiene sampling and surveying techniques + Excellent communication, writing, interpersonal and coaching skills + Strong analytical skills **Education Requirements** Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor Preferred Disciplines: Fire Protection, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Occupational Safety Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above. **Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description** Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) **Working Conditions** Office Work Environment 76 -100% Cold Up to 25% Dust / Grease / Oil Up to 25% Fumes Up to 25% Heat Up to 25% Loud Noise Up to 25% Outdoors Up to 25% Pressurized Lines & Valves Up to 25% Radiation Up to 25% Travel Up to 25% **Other Working Conditions** **Test Description** No Testing Required **Export Control** Certain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
